What is Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI)?

The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) is a collaborative initiative involving SingularityNET, Fetch.AI, and Ocean Protocol. These entities have proposed to merge their tokenomic networks to form the ASI. The primary goal of this merger is to create the world’s largest open-source, independent AI research and development foundation with a unique focus on creating decentralized Artificial Superintelligence. The vision of ASI is to build decentralized AGI and ASI that is under popular control, ensuring the diverse insights, judgments, and capabilities from across global human society are involved in the development of AGI and ASI.

What is Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) used for?

The ASI Alliance aims to advance AI technology through three primary pillars:

  1. Build ASI: The primary focus is on research, development, and deployment of decentralized Artificial Superintelligence.
  2. Show Apps, Unify Stack: Demonstrating practical AI applications today and evolving towards a unified decentralized AI stack.
  3. Scale Decentralized Compute: Expanding compute resources necessary for AI, AGI, and ASI at a massive scale.

The merged entity leverages each project's unique strengths:

  • Fetch.AI: Provides a decentralized AI agent architecture designed for commercial applications.
  • Ocean Protocol: Focuses on secure, privacy-preserving data management.
  • SingularityNET: Offers a decentralized network for AI services and is heavily involved in AGI research.

Who created Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI)?

The ASI was founded by leaders from SingularityNET, Fetch.AI, and Ocean Protocol:

  • Ben Goertzel: Founder of SingularityNET, known as the "Father of AGI."
  • Humayun Sheikh: Founder of Fetch.AI.
  • Trent McConaghy and Bruce Pon: Founders of Ocean Protocol.

The ASI Merge Process

The merger process involves combining the existing token networks (FET, AGIX, and OCEAN) into a new token called ASI. This process includes:

  • Token Conversion: Current FET, AGIX and OCEAN tokens will be converted to $ASI. The total supply of ASI tokens will be 2,630,547,141, with specific allocations for each original token:
    • $FET tokens migrate to ASI, at a conversion rate of 1:1
    • $AGIX tokens migrate to ASI, at a conversion rate of 0.433350:1
    • $OCEAN tokens migrate to ASI, at a conversion rate of 0.433226:1
  • Token Migration: ASI will be supported on multiple blockchains including FetchChain (Cosmos), Ethereum, Cardano, BNB Chain, and Matic Chain. Cross-chain bridges will facilitate token migration between these networks.
  • Governance: A new Artificial Superintelligence Council will be established, including representatives from each foundation, to guide operations and ensure community involvement in decision-making.
