Within this ecosystem, the OMI token serves as a crucial medium for transactions, providing a range of utilities through the OMI Utility Program.
The OMI token primarily serves as an in-app utility token for the VeVe app. It offers numerous benefits to token holders and VeVe collectors, such as boosting MCP (Master Collector Program) points and granting access to exclusive perks. Beyond its role in the VeVe app, the OMI token also functions as a transactional currency in various Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplaces and is even used in Play-to-Earn games like Tengoku Senso.
Ecomi was co-founded by David Yu, who serves as the CEO. His co-founders include Daniel Crothers and Joseph Janik. Each of the co-founders brings substantial business and entrepreneurial experience to the project. David Yu, in particular, has been recognized twice as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, signifying his strong entrepreneurial background.
Initially, the OMI token was developed as a GO20 token on the GoChain blockchain. However, it later transitioned to become an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain.
