Aragon (ANT) is an open-source, blockchain-based platform that aims to empower decentralized organizations (DAOs) by providing tools for creating, managing, and governing DAOs. It offers a suite of tools, including a decentralized arbitration system, token management, and voting mechanisms, to facilitate the creation and operation of DAOs.
Aragon was created by the Aragon Association, a global, decentralized team of developers, entrepreneurs, and community members led by Luis Cuende and Jorge Izquierdo. The project was launched in 2016 and has gained widespread adoption in the blockchain and DAO communities.
Aragon (ANT) is used for creating, managing, and governing DAOs. It serves as the native governance token of the Aragon network, allowing holders to participate in decision-making and vote on proposals within the DAOs. ANT tokens are also used for paying fees, collateralizing disputes, and participating in the network's economic incentives.
