Immutable X is a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, designed to provide fast and cheap transactions with zero gas fees. It achieves this by using zk-rollups, a type of off-chain scaling technology that enables large numbers of transactions to be processed off-chain and then committed to the Ethereum mainnet.
Immutable X was created by the team behind Immutable, a Sydney-based blockchain gaming company founded in 2018 by James Ferguson and Robbie Ferguson.
Immutable X is used for building decentralized applications (dApps) and executing smart contracts on Ethereum. It enables high throughput and reduces congestion on the Ethereum network, making it ideal for use cases such as gaming, marketplaces, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The IMX token is used to pay for transaction fees, secure the network, and participate in governance processes.
