Ooki (OOKI) is a protocol for tokenized margin trading and lending, offering decentralized and efficient financial services. It enables shorting, leverage, borrowing, and lending on the blockchain, empowering users with flexible decentralized finance capabilities.
Ooki is a community-run project, governed by community voting for major protocol changes. While Tom Bean and Kyle Kistner founded bZeroX, which later became Ooki DAO, they are no longer associated with the decentralized autonomous organization.
Ooki users can engage in margin trading with up to 15x leverage, lend out funds to earn interest, borrow funds against collateral, and stake Ooki tokens to earn a portion of platform fees. The OOKI token serves as the primary token of the platform, allowing users to participate in platform governance through the OOKI DAO. OOKI holders can vote on proposals, submit new proposals, and influence the protocol's governance decisions. Additionally, OOKI is designed to kickstart liquidity and align long-term interests of stakeholders. The protocol is currently deployed on Ethereum L1, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain.
