Drift Protocol is a decentralized exchange constructed on the Solana blockchain. It facilitates non-custodial trading of cryptocurrencies, specifically focusing on perpetual swaps. Drift Protocol enables on-chain trading of perpetual futures using a cross-margined mechanism. This allows users to manage trades in a decentralized environment, leveraging features that include borrowing at variable rates, staking for yields, and swapping spot tokens. The protocol employs a Just-In-Time Auction mechanism and a Keeper Network to manage order execution and liquidity.
Drift Protocol was co-founded by Cindy Leow and David. They aimed to merge the efficiency and user experience of centralized exchanges (CEX) with the autonomy and transparency of decentralized finance (DeFi).
