Satoxcoin (SATOX) is a cryptocurrency that emphasizes the safety and privacy of users' funds. It is designed to be decentralised, with transactions that are irreversible and no ability to block any single wallet in the network. SATOX is based on a Proof of Work (PoW) GPU-based blockchain, making it resistant to censorship. The cryptocurrency uses the KawPoW algorithm and has a block time of 60 seconds. The maximum supply of SATOX is capped at 8 billion coins, with a premine of 3.5 billion SATOX for the swap from the original SATO-chain to the new SATOX-chain.
Satoxcoin is used primarily in the gaming and eSports sectors. It integrates a play-to-earn (P2E) functionality into popular games, allowing players to earn SATOX coins while playing. This includes over 670 Steam games and is intended to be used for in-game purchases and as a payment method for eSports tournaments. SATOX aims to develop a "true proof of game" system where players can validate blockchain transactions and earn coin rewards directly in their wallets by using GPU resources while gaming. Additionally, SATOX serves various other purposes such as accounting, storing value, transferring value, minting and transferring digital assets on the blockchain, making purchases, and for donations.
Satoxcoin was created by a community initiative, originating from four members of the SATO community. They sought to rescue and revitalize a stagnating and previously abandoned coin. SATOX was formed as an open-source community project, with a structure that encourages participation and contribution from its community members. The development and promotion of the coin and its P2E direction are partly overseen by a sub-team known as “SATOX Guards”.
